Hotel Del Coronado

As a child I can remember going to Coronado Island as my father had lived on the island, when he was a small boy.  His father was a Naval Pilot and stationed at North Island before his death prior to World War II.  I can remember the sea turtles coming up on the beach and the site of them.  They were huge!

The hotel has always been a landmark to me and the history and the glamor that went along with the hotel’s reputation.  Guests such as Charles Lindbergh, Hollywood stars and starlets, Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, Ester Williams, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon, and Marilyn Monroe, just to name a few and not to mention the legendary tale said to be the ghost of Kate Morgan.

It is said that she still resides at the hotel where she had spent the last five days of her life.  Being recently married on their trip to the Del Coronado it is said that she and her husband had argued on the train.  He had disembarked from the train in Orange, California and Kate continued to the hotel alone.  After waiting for him to arrive, on the fifth day she was found and the bottom of the stairs leading to the beach from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

It is reported that the guests that stay in the room where she had spent her final days experience unexplainable activity in their room.  Bedding is pulled down, eerie drafts in the room, television turning on and off as well as lights flickering for no apparent reason.

We had a wonderful stay at the Del Coronado hotel only capturing a few orbs here and there.  Our stay was incredible and well worth it.  I would love to plan another weekend at the Del and experience its grandeur once more.

The above two pictures on the left where taken on my very first visit to the Whaley House.  I was unaware of this museum being one of the most haunted places in America.  As I was there for the interest of genealogy research for a family member who is a Whaley.  It was only a short time before I had my first experience as I stood in the Courtroom of the home and there was an overwhelming aroma of cigar smoke in the air, which I came to discover that it was a common experience from what is believed to be from Thomas Whaley making his presence known.

The picture on the lower left has what appears to be a man’s face looking inward from the right side of the glass pane of the window.  Can you see him?

The two photos on the right were taken more recently as you might be able to tell if you have ever been to the Whaley House in Old Town San Diego.

Since my first visit, the house of the Whaley family home has been updated and refurbished but never disappoints.  We have always come home with personal experiences and stories to share.  A wonderful day or weekend trip with quaint shops and restaurants to please the palate.

Aboard the Queen Mary, Long Beach,CA

Our visit and overnight stay aboard the Queen Mary.  It was an exciting get-a-way and something that I had always hoped to explore and enjoy an overnight stay on this historic ship.  From a luxury liner in the mid 1930's to transporting over 800,00 troops during the war.  I can recall my first impressions that made an imprint on my mind from the past.  I could see happy young children running and playing on deck dressed in 1930/1940 attire.  I also felt great sadness on this ship, heavy heartfelt sadness which seemed to be residual from serving during the war era.

Here is a photo of our cabin along with an orb being captured in the shot.  As we scoured and toured the ship and yes, even took the tour.  The reflective surfaces of all the decorative ornate wood hindered any clear shots of activity aboard the ship.  Also, there is a lot of plexiglass used for areas portraying scenes of rooms on board and how they would have been used back in the day, from the infirmary to the war rooms.  All in all, it was a lovely experience and I will honor the impressions of the past and respect the history.

Here we are visiting Tombstone, AZ.  Exploring and reading all the headstones of those buried in the Boot Hill Cemetery.  We enjoyed are day as we toured the town.  To walk along the dirt roads and see the famous Bird Cage Theater that is reported to be highly active with spirits and haunts.  The history of the area is present as you walk along the historic streets.  It was interesting to discover the famed Gunfight at the O.K. Corral occurred in Tombstone, AZ.  Marshal Virgil Earp along with brothers Wyatt and Morgan and their friend Doc Holiday took on Billy Clanton and the McLaury Brothers.

This photo goes way back, can you tell?  My husband Paul is sporting his fanny-pack and large video camera.   The mission turned fort was an exciting trip for us.  Exploring the historic site was unforgettable.  The site had been packed that day with lots of visitors, so it was difficult to tap-in to the energy of the past.  However, that didn't discourage us from enjoying the tour and history lesson.  It was a beautiful day followed by a lovely evening of dinner and river walk along the San Antonio River.

Orb in Motion

As you can tell this picture was taken several years ago.  I would often at times just randomly take pictures throughout our house trying to capture any activity.  Well, I got lucky this evening capturing this orb in motion up towards the ceiling.  My great grandfather had painted the picture on the wall of Devils Tower in Wyoming just in case you were wondering.  He had served in the U.S. Cavalry way back in the day.

Ohio State Reformatory  Mansfield, Ohio

What a magnificent sight as we drove up to this grand exterior.  However, the exterior is very misleading to what lies just beyond the façade.  Prior to the construction of the reformatory the land was occupied by 4,000 Civil War troops readying themselves for battle.  It was not until 1886 that the cornerstones were laid on the site for the purpose of housing criminals.
As we entered the massive structure seeing the deterioration surrounding us.  The peeling paint flaking from the walls, the dust layering the area.  With the overbearing bars encasing the area in which we were to pass through leading to the cell blocks.
The energy of the reformatory seemed to be very heavy.  The imagination that I had could not ever imagine a life of imprisonment.  But as I passed by these cells, I can recall a past prisoner up on the third floor in the corner cell communicating with me.  It’s like an imprint in my mind and I can remember him trying to convince me “I didn’t do it, I’m innocent”.  He kept repeating this to me.
The picture below, if you look closely to the orb on the right, you may just notice the face in the orb.  This cell was not on the third level, but the first.

Gettysburg, Sensing the Past

It was wonderful being in Gettysburg, a place that I had always wanted to visit.  Since I love history, this was just up my alley.  We were staying in small little KOA cabins that my daughter had booked during our stay in Gettysburg. We were driving down a country road when my psychic vision captured the figure of a Civil War Confederate soldier coming out into the clearing off the side of the road from a barrier of trees.  He seemed to be moving at a crouching pace as he made his way out of the tree line.  He appeared so quickly and was then just gone.  FYI, we did capture orbs on our cameras in the cabin.
As Gettysburg tourists we did what tourists do and went to the Farnsworth House and attended the Cellar Ghost Stories event.  Following the event my daughter mentioned to the storyteller that I was a psychic medium.  He asked if I would like to touch in with the energy of the Cellar as my daughter videotaped the walk-through.  I gave my impressions from what I was receiving and was asked to send them a copy of the video, which we did mail to them once we returned home to California.

As we toured through Gettysburg during these hot and humid days and nights, it was just such a surreal feeling to be here.  Such an important place in our American History.  My husband and I genealogy buffs too, this trip gave us a real appreciation of our Civil War Ancestors for their courage and the times in which they lived.

    Carol

As early as my young childhood I remember always being curious about the supernatural, paranormal, and mysticism in general.  I seemed to be drawn with curiosity about the unseen, or what one would term as the occult.

That seems to be such a scary word.  It is only the mystery behind the magic of an unexplainable, unbelievable, universe of possibilities through faith and practices.

Growing up believing in God and attending church services and the youth groups, which I loved.  That still did not stop me from experiencing unexplainable happenings in my youth.

I was experiencing visitations, hearing direct voice phenomena, along with some astral traveling and I had no answers and no one to ask.  So, my curiosity set me on my quest to find knowledge and understanding for these unexplainable occurrences happening in my life.

As time had passed, I came to find out that my grandmother had told family members that I “had the gift”.  This was not revealed to me until long after her death and I was now in my middle ages of life.

Apparently, the so-called gift had run in my family.  What was funny about this was that I had already begun offering spiritual psychic readings and was known as a psychic medium and had followed my path to become an ordained spiritualist minister.
